Green Tree Frog
I worked for a company that did editing for National Geographic Kids magazines. They always have great photographs of animals and nature. I came across this green tree frog on one the covers. The colors of the frog were amazing! At the time, I was just beginning my exploration of soft pastels. So when I saw this frog I had to see if I could capture the frog’s bright colors. It became my first successful experiment with pastels. The colors popped off the black paper. I also liked how the pastels blend to together and still be able to create a painterly style.
