Man with Red Horse

After being inspired by the work of German artist Franz Marc, I moved on to tackling oil paints. I loved how he was able to get such bold colors with the oils. Man with Red Horse was my first. Oils are thicker, smellier, and drying time can take weeks between layers of paint. Needless to say it took a while to complete. I used broad brush strokes and raw color on canvas.
