April Riedl

Hello! I’m April!

I have been drawing ever since I was a small child living on a Midwest dairy farm. My work has always been related to animals and nature. Horses were my favorite to draw as a child and through my teenage years. My artwork is an expression of myself and who I am. Therefore, it is my way of communicating to the world my passion for animals, nature, and the colors of the world around me.

I have explored many different art materials throughout my art career: watercolors, acrylics, oils, colored pencils, markers, soft pastels, and recently polymer clay. After using soft pastels for the first time to create Green Tree Frog, I truly felt I found the medium to best express how rich and vibrant I see the world of nature and animals. Each portrait I produce is a one-of-a-kind, hand-drawn piece of art created with passion to be treasured for many years. My polymer clay creatures are a new way to express myself, my artistic talents and imagination.

My Galleries

My galleries consists of many projects that I have accomplished over the years starting from my time at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. After art school, I continued to explore various art materials such as watercolors, acrylics, oils, colored pencils, scratch board, soft pastels, and markers. My most recent works have been created with polymer clay. I see my work as an exploration of various mediums, colors and my imagination. Click on Green Tree Frog on the right to view my galleries.
